Since I'm still in my recovery stages from probably the most
incredible show I have ever seen, I thought I would take a moment
to post to the net..... Last night at the Metropol was the first time
that I had ever seen Phish headline and it was just an incredible show.
I have never seen a band with that kind of energy. Despite the fact
that neither magnetic nor optical media could ever possible capture that
kind of energy, I am still giving my formal plea for a tape of this show.
I saw several people taping (a couple with what appeared to be DATs) so
I hope that some tapes will be soon circulating.

If anyone runs accross a tape of this show (and is willing to dub it for
me) you be my hero for the day.......

Thanks.....

-Adam Conover.

Well,

Since no one has posted anything much on last night's show....
Anyway, needless to say the show was amazing... as any vet would know
words can't describe the experience... So anyway, Trey was rollerblading
in a parking garge when he was confronted with an unphriendly security
guard... well it was a good story... Metropol security sucked... fucking
nazis... two of my friends had certain smoking materials taken from them.
the mood was real tense... the crowd was about as cool as a Pittsburgh
crowd
can get... nevertheless it was the best experience I've had since my last
Phish
Show!

later,
Aaron

Wow. It's the day after the show and my head is still spinning. The boys
really put out their all for the kids in Pittsburgh. I did'nt get a chance
to
scrawl down the set lits--I'm sure some body did though. The highlights of
the s
show included: a strong "I Did'nt Know" in the first set; a burning
version o
   f
Guelah Papyrus; Uncle Pen in fine form; You Enjoy Myself just riddled with
all
kinds of experimental stuff (I think Trey and Mike even tryed to perform
that
seven-beats per second feedback loop); Fishman, tired of the bad press
circulating around his vaccuum, performed Syd Barrett with an extended
Electrolux solo; plus, to top it all off--the finished with a sparkling
rendition of Jimi's "Let Me Stand Next To Your Fire"!
(Sorry for all the typos--I'm rushing because I have to study for
finals.)
Trey also told his fight story to me after the show:
Earlier that day, in a Pittsburgh parking garage, Trey was leisurely
doing
some roller-blading. A security guard tackled him, and they started to
duke it
out. (Trey did a really impressive narration in which he gave a
blow-for-blow
description of the bout.) It ended with Trey tossing the guards flashlight
across the garage floor (to, y'know, divert his attention), and he grabbed
onto
the bumber of a passing car, thus rolling out of the garage--free again.
(Sorry for the typos--see you in Columbus tomorrow night!)

Pittsburgh 11-30, Metropol

A few friends and I caught this show. The guys played like a three-hour
orgasm. Features:

o Some tune possibly called "I Didn't Know That I Was So Far
Gone." What *is* this? It was %$@#! INCREDIBLE.
o This strange but interesting vocal harmony/scat thing about
                midway through the second set.
o The explanation of the Language.
o Trey explaining how he got into a fight with some parking
                garage attendant that day.
        o Fishman's vacuum solo.
o Cover of some Syd Barrett tune where Fishman sang and Trey
                played drums.

The place was really small and really crowded. Nearly everyone in the
audience was smoking, so the light show was extra effective.

Now what we'd like to know is:

WHERE COULD WE SCORE A BOOTLEG? A bunch of people were
recording by the looks of it. If you have any info, please
        write:

                        JRRST12@vms.cis.pitt.edu
                    or JMRST22@vms.cis.pitt.edu

Thanks a plenty, Phisheads!

Joe

Howdy!
I just saw pHish at the metropol on Friday and would have to say that it
was the most intense experience(musically) of my life. It was my first
time seeing them headlining! I saw them in Akron OH this summer with
Santana and had the luck of talking with Fishman who was surveying the
heads in the audience when I spotted him. He was playing with a metal
washboard vest which he explained he had just bought from one of people at
the Santana festival just minutes prior to this encounter. At the metropol
he played this vest on stage, so I have to have this tape. I have several
middle to high quality pHish bootlegs to trade and also TONS of dead
bootlegs to trade. I would appreciate anyone who has the time and a copy
of this concert to contact me and I will send blanks, postage etc. Thank
you!

Jason

P.S. I'll see ya'll on Friday in Ann Arbor!
